The challenge

Nebulisation can be distressing for young children and equally stressful for parents. In practice, a large part of the treatment time is often spent trying to manage the child’s fear or discomfort, which can affect how well the treatment is actually received. The challenge was to make those six minutes feel less clinical, less intimidating and more manageable, without losing sight of the medical context.

The idea

The idea was simple but powerful: instead of treating the nebulisation window as dead time, turn it into a short, engaging experience built around play. Neb Adventures introduced a world children could step into during treatment, using stories, characters, games and digital interaction to redirect attention and reduce anxiety. Created with input from paediatricians, the platform was designed to feel accessible and reassuring for children, while giving parents and healthcare professionals a more effective way to support the treatment process.

The outcome

Neb Adventures transformed a short but difficult part of treatment into something more interactive, familiar and calming for children. It existed both as an app and within hospitals and treatment centres in the UAE, giving the idea practical reach beyond a single campaign execution. The project also went on to win MENA Effies Gold in Media Innovation and MENA Effies Silver in Brand Experience, which reinforced its value as an idea that was both creatively strong and genuinely useful.
